Families sitting in front of the royal palace
The river is the place to gather every Sunday and on special occasions, and the new year brought out large numbers. Many families avoided the traffic, though, and found a place to sit near the royal palace.

While some families sat near the river and ate and chatted, some of the teenagers took a more active approach, filling bags with water to throw at their friends and unsuspecting folk.
